Michael J. Bart, MD

Board Certified Anesthesiologist

“My goal is to provide the safest, most comfortable anesthetic care possible. I derive a great deal of satisfaction when my patients wake up promptly and ask, ‘Have you already done the surgery?”

Dr. Bart’s medical career began in Tucson, Arizona where he was part of a large group of Anesthesiologists working throughout the city. Here he participated in all kinds of surgery, including open heart, neuro, vascular, obstetrics, and major trauma. Since 1992 he has been providing anesthesia care at Skagit Valley Hospital. Pain management is a large component of his practice. Dr. Bart has served as the primary anesthesiologist at the Northwest Orthopaedic Surgeons’ ambulatory surgery center since May, 2001.

Dr. Bart enjoys spending time with his wife, Elisabeth, and their two children. As a family they enjoy the outdoors, be it hiking, skiing, kayaking, or just spending time on the beach. He also enjoys traveling to far off places. For many years he has been a volunteer with the Samish Island Fire Department.
