Kaärsten R. Lang, MD

Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon

“I enjoy the challenge of helping patients feel and function better. Sometimes there are immediate results in pain relief and mobility.  Sometimes progress is slower, but getting to know my patients and watching them improve is what I most enjoy.”

Dr. Lang grew up amidst the medical profession, watching her father practice orthopaedic surgery before heading off to earn her own degree.  After completing her training at Loma Linda University, Dr. Lang practiced in California for two years before returning to the Skagit Valley to practice orthopaedic surgery with her late father, Dr. Robert Lang.  She is Chairman of the Orthopaedic Section at Affiliated Health Services and has presented medical lectures at conferences around the country.

Dr. Lang and her husband, Dr. Lester Richards, enjoy spending time at home together with their son and daughter.  She also enjoys reading and collecting antique quilts.  When she gets a little time off, Dr. Lang loves to travel, ski and scuba dive.  Given the chance to choose a career over again, she wouldn’t change a thing.  The opportunity to help her patients improve is something she would not trade for anything.
