Mark Vollrath, P.A. -C Receives Distinguished Teaching Award
Well known Mt. Vernon physician assistant, Mark S. Vollrath, P.A.-C. received the 2007 Distinguished Teaching Award from the MEDEX Northwest Physician Assistant Program on January 25, 2007. This teaching award, which was presented at the Washington Academy of Physician Assistants Winter Conference in Seattle, recognizes outstanding teaching by a MEDEX Graduate.
Mr. Vollrath graduated from the MEDEX Program in 1982 and has worked consistently in the Mt. Vernon area since that time. He is currently employed by Northwest Orthopaedic Surgeons and also serves as a consultant to the Washington State Medical Quality Assurance Commission. He has provided ongoing clinical teaching in his clinical practices sites for over 20 years. The MEDEX Distinguished Teaching Award acknowledges his clinical teaching, his regular classroom involvement on the University of Washington campus, and his significant role in creating and delivering a new general surgery curriculum for the MEDEX Program in 2006.
MEDEX Northwest at the University of Washington School of Medicine is one of the nation’s first physician assistant programs and since 1969 has trained over 1500 physician assistants for the Pacific Northwest.
